That's right! This August 25th, Mattress Nation is holding our 2nd annual Monterey Car Week Car Meet out in front of our Sand City location. We are inviting all local car enthusiasts to join us for a “cars and coffee” in the parking lot near our Sand City location at 915 Playa Ave from 9am to 11am.
How did this all get started?
Mattress Nation is a locally owned and managed small business, started in 2013 by a couple of mattress sales industry guys who wanted to provide superior customer service. We care about our customers and our community, and lately we've been getting more involved. That includes getting involved with Monterey Car Week, an annual event in August where car enthusiasts take over the entire Monterey Peninsula. For a whole week, all throughout the Monterey Peninsula area there are events, races, and car shows featuring every style of unique, fancy, and just downright cool vehicle you can imagine, and then some! Every year, our Salesperson Laura gets swept up in the excitement. You might recognize Laura as she is featured prominently on our social media, and she is our representative at the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. Laura dreamed up this crazy idea of hosting an informal car meet in front of our shop last year, and along with her fellow car enthusiasts, they made it happen! Local car club, the Coastal Headturners, who partnered with us last year, will be joining us again this year, and a few neighboring businesses from the Monterey area will be joining us as well. This year the event has evolved into a “cars and coffee,” with local BrewBus mobile coffee vendor providing caffeinated goodies.
This is a family friendly free community event, all are welcome! Bring your cool car, or just come and enjoy the scenery.
This event is one week after the close of Car Week. So all of us who are still in the mood for some cool cars, but needed a week to recover, can show up, caffeinate, and enjoy some cool cars! Our store will be opening an hour early for this event, so come in and say hi to Farid, our primary Salesperson at the Sand City store, and the proud owner of his own classic car!
